Cherry Tree Cottage

Cherry Tree Cottage is a charming cob cottage in a village setting, in the heart of the Kenn Valley, and only 5 miles from the city of Exeter.

We have put together some cycling routes that you can enjoy whilst staying at Cherry Tree Cottage 

Cycle Route 1 - Maximum 22 miles 

Killerton Estate & Silverton, from Thorverton to Newton St Cyres. This route is fairly level with a few rolling hills in beautiful countryside and through picturesque villages.

Cycle Route 2 - Maximum 22 miles

This route is fairly level (along the banks of the Exe Estuary from Exmouth) with a few rolling hills at the start and end, on quiet country roads through the Kenn Valley down to Starcross.

Cycle Route 3 - Maximum 12 miles

Other than the climb in and out of the village, this is a level route (along the banks of the Exe Estuary staying on the Dawlish side). Half way through the ride you will reach the Turf Locks pub, which can only be accessed by bike or on foot.

Cycle Route 4 - Approximately 17 miles

Other than the climb in and out of the village, this is a level route (along the banks of the Exeter Canal). There are plenty of places to stop for refreshments including the Double Locks pub.

Walk 1 - Walking to Kenn

This is a good introduction to the area. It is on quiet roads, footpaths and across fields. An uphill start is rewarded with great views of the Kenn Valley down to Kenn and Kennford and, in the opposite direction, across to Exeter and the Exe Estuary.

Walk 2 - Haldon Woods to Mamhead

This is an easy, level walk which takes you to a fantastic viewpoint, looking down the Estuary to Exmouth and Dawlish, and upstream to Topsham and Exeter.
